About Workshop
Somatic Dialogue is a gentle technique that helps you connect with yourself through non-performance-driven improvisation. It’s a practice you can do alone or with a partner, where interacting through movement opens up new possibilities and allows you to surprise yourself by relating to another.
Most of us carry a constant monologue in our minds, often without realizing how tiring it is for our bodies. In this workshop, we’ll embody these inner monologues, allowing them to be fully seen, and explore how to transform them into a dialogue.
Our main focuses will include:
What distinguishes an inner monologue from an inner dialogue?
How is creating dialogue with another different from being two people who repeat separate monologues?
How can I truly hear another’s story without losing myself or centering on them?
What are boundaries? Can we set boundaries and still stay connected—or is there another way?
Who am I while listening? Who am I while speaking? Is there a moment when I embody both?
Prepare to connect deeply—with the floor, with yourself, and with others. We’ll use hands-on techniques to build dialogue. Please wear comfortable clothes, warm socks, and come as simply as possible, avoiding jewelry or tight pants that might distract you.
